Introspective

A collaborative piece combining Animation, Poetry, and Dance done for the non-profit: Art by the People. I along with two other animators created this piece as a backdrop for a live performance, as such we created the character to mimic and help the dancers.

When we first listened to the poem “I Hate Myself” my team and I couldn’t help but think about water and the flow of her words especially towards the end. We settled on my character design for our main character and decided to have her change phases as the poem progresses.

We decided that to accent the performance even more we would include some rotoscoping to act as a mirror to the dancer. I took over this part of the project as it seemed interesting and fun to try.
